Third Inter-regional Steering Committee Meeting of LMPI Project
Under the framework of capacity building in the field of higher education, Erasmus+ Project LMPI – “Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees for the development, administration, management and protection of information systems and networks in companies in Moldova, Kazakhstan, Vietnam” funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) of European Commission, organized at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUT – VNU-HCM) since October 2016. In the series of project activities, as the coordinating university of Vietnam, HCMUT the Third Steering Committee Meeting from December 4 – 6, 2018.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Danh Thao, Vice Rector, represented HCMUT to give the opening speech at the opening session of the meeting. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology – Vietnam National University is one of the most prestigious technological institutions in Vietnam with more than 60 years of establishment, development and integration. The university has continuously maintained and gained reputation in training high quality labor force for the community and the society. As one among three Vietnamese partners in the project Erasmus+ LMPI and the coordinating school in Vietnam, HCMUT has demonstrated its vision and strategy in strengthening external relations, participating actively in international integration and searching for effective solutions in tackling common issues of the regional and global community, especially in cyber security which is the main target of the project.
The LMPI project aims at contributing to the protection of information systems and networks in companies in Moldova, Kazakhstan and Vietnam with the objectives of bridging skills gaps in the design and maintenance of private corporate computer systems security, improving the competencies of students and professionals; professionalizing universities’ academic curricula in the field of development, administration, management and protection of computer systems and networks in accordance with the Bologna Process and with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
This meeting welcomed participation of more than 20 delegates, who are lecturers and staffs at partner universities of the project from France, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Vietnam. With the assistance in the project, partners have a chance to meet and share experiences, professional knowledge and improve access ability to updated information in the field of cyber security in the world. According to that, bachelors and masters students from the project can perform the renovation and realize the targets for Vietnam in one of the most important technological issues of the present, which is Cyber Security.
On behalf of the Vietnamese universities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Danh Thao, Vice Rector of HCMUT expressed the appreciation to Grenoble Academic Institute (France) and Uninettuno (Italy), which are the responsible institution for establishing, administrating and managing the project since 2016. HCMUT also sent a warm thank you to Vigo University – Spain, the sourcing university in Europe, for their active assistance to Vietnamese universities in staff training, academic curricula establishing for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Cyber Security and promoting a double degree program. Last but not least, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Danh Thao recognized the close cooperation and precious contributions to deployment of project activities from partner universities from Greece, Bulgaria, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Vietnam. The partnership, support, companion and sharing from institutions under the Erasmus+ LMPI project are promising in bringing success and spreading in worldwide academic and industry community.
