Promoting cooperation in training and scientific research with Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company

 

A cooperation agreement signing ceremony in training, human resource development, and scientific research between Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) and Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company (TPC DUYENHAI) took place on the morning of April 27th in Tra Vinh.

Attending the ceremony from HCMUT, there were President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong, Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thien Phuc and leadership of academic faculties and functional offices. On the other hand, the counterpart was by Director Mr. Nguyen Van Thu and other representatives of relevant departments of the company. 

Agreement signing moment

According to the articles concluded in the agreement, both parties will cooperate in a variety of activities, such as offering courses in thermal power and developing technical experts for TPC DUYEN HAI, organizing field trips/internships for HCMUT’s students as well as recruitment programs for HCMUT’s graduates. In terms of science and technology cooperation, HCMUT will dispatch experts to give scientific and technological strategy consultancy for the company, conducting (co)researches, organizing conferences and exchanging R&D achievements, and so on between the two.

As one of the leading multidisciplinary universities in Vietnam with the core of engineering and technology, HCMUT has developed itself as a research-oriented university.  

TPC DUYENHAI is playing an instrumental role in thermal power in the Mekong Delta. 

TPC DUYENHAI is assigned by the Power Generation Corporation 1 to take over Duyen Hai Thermal Power Plant 1 and 3 with a total capacity of 2,490 MW and the largest coal port in Mekong Delta that is capable of accommodating ships with a tonnage of 30,000 tons.

With the potential and enthusiasm of the leaders of both parties, the cooperation agreement on training, human resource development, and scientific research promise to bring about remarkable achievements in the years to come.
