Food Technology Program at HCMUT receives the certification from IFT, USA
On 8 April 2021, at HCMUT’s weekly meeting, the University President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong awarded the cerficates of merits to related units and individuals for their great contribution to achieving the international accreditation of the university’s academic programs.

Previously, in September 2020, the IFT Organization (Institute of Food Technologists) recognized the program in Food Technology at HCMUT as having met the higher educational standards with specialized criteria for food technology- related areas, which has been valid for 5 years (2020-2025). Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is the first and only university in Vietnam to achieve this IFT certification.
The standards are adopted based on essential requirements for food science training considering the criteria such as quality of university administration, faculty, facilities, laboratories, workshops, industry linkage etc … It is known that IFT is an authorized academic organization in food science and technology and is widely recognized by worldwide universities, research institutes and enterprises in the field of food science and technology. IFT members are prestigious universities including more than 70 universities in the US and in the world.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is the first and only university in Vietnam to achieve this IFT certification
