HCMUT welcomes the delegation from the British Embassy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Health
On 19 March 2021, the delegation from the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland and the Vietnamese Ministry of Health paid a visit to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.

The guest delegation includes: Dr. Tran Tung, Department of Digitalization of Medical Examination and Treatment, Department of Information Technology; Ms. Phoebe Surf, Health Programs Advisor, Diplomatic Mission, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Nam, Chief Representative of FHI 360, Program Director of BHP; Dr. Pham Cong Tuan, Program Officer, BHP, FHI 360 and MSc. Tran Hong Quang, BHP Program consultant
From Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thien Phuc, Vice-President; Dr. Vu Anh Quang, Vice-Director of External Relations Office; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Deputy-head of Academic Affairs Office; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Quang Linh, Faculty of Applied Sciences and Dr. Nguyen Chi Ngoc, Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
At the meeting, the delegation introduced the Better Health Programme partnership between the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and the UK. The two sides discussed the possibilities of the pilot implementation of some activities within the mentioned programme at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology.
In such a framework, through the FHI 360 and BHP-Better Health Program, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and the British Embassy wish to build a training site in the South for hospital health workers on HL7 FHIR standards and SNOMED CT Application for Electronic Medical Records / Electronic Health Records.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology currently having intensive research and training programs on HL7 FHIR and SNOMED CT been selected as the potential pilot site for activities within the program’s framework.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on collaboration items to proceed signing the memorandum of understanding in the near future.
