Workshop on Nuclear Power titled “Current Status of Safety Measures and Efforts towards Further Enhancement of Nuclear Safety

25 May – Kansai Electric Power Co. (KEPCO), Japan paid a visit to Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) in the morning and had a meeting with Prof. Mai Thanh Phong, Vice-Rector, Prof. Nguyen Danh Thao, Director of External Relations Office and Dr. Vo Dai Nhat, Vice-Director of External Relations Office in room 103A5

At the meeting, HCMUT and KEPCO conducted discussions on organizing joint workshops and research projects. Prof. Mai Thanh Phong highly evaluated exchanged ideas and expressed his appreciation to the partnership with KEPCO, Japan in the past years as well as expected fruitful collaborative programmes in the future.

 

Workshop on Nuclear Power by KEPCO- Japan

In the next section, External Relations Office of HCMUT cooperated with KEPCO, Japan to hold the specialized workshop on Nuclear Power titled “Current Status of Safety Measures and Efforts towards Further Enhancement of Nuclear Safety -Takahama Power Station” at DLS

The workshop attracted the participation of many staff and students of HCMUT. Representatives of KEPCO – The Kansai Electric Power Co.presented following contents: Introduction to Takahama Power Station; Safety measures to improve Units 3 and 4 of Takahama Power Station; Issues related to Takahama Power Station in the next 40 years to meet the demand for new technology. In addition, there was an exchange section for questions and answers between experts of Kansai Electric Power and HCMUT’s staff and students.

KEPCO – The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., Japan is one of the strategic partners supporting HCMUT in different programmes as scholarships, internship to the University’s students. HCMUT and KEPCO are making plans for varied future collaborations related to academic exchange and development.
