Nearly 300 students paying tuition fee at a discount in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic
Amidst hardships that students have gone through due to the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and severe droughts together with salinization, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) has offered 25-75% tuition fee discount to 300 students depending on the impact levels.

The good news that nearly affected 300 students were given tuition fee at a discount was disclosed by the Head Office of Student Affairs M.Eng. Vo Tan Thong. They are truly in life difficulties needing support so that they might feel at ease in daily life, thus being more focussed on their study.
The final-year student in Civil Engineering Le Minh Khanh shared his feeling “I was grateful to hear the news that I am among others who have qualified for up to 75% tuition fee discount offering in the second semester. The discount is expected to help me get through hardships in life for the time being.” Khanh is one of three qualified students for up to 75% tuition fee discount offers.
Depending on the impact levels, students will be taken into consideration of tuition fee discount of up to 75% in the second semester. The discount amount will be remitted directly to the students’ accounts. The decision made by the university leadership stemmed from the sympathy of hardships the students and their families have encountered amidst COVID-19 pandemic, natural disaster, and severe droughts along with salinization.
As well as tuition fee discount offering, 100% of students was offered highspeed internet free of charge for online course attendance during COVID-19 pandemic. As we can see, the university support is not only happiness and encouragement as well as companion with students and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also determination to overcome the pandemic and other natural disasters towards academic accomplishment.
