HCMUT’ Students won 2nd place in the “Unmanned Vehicles” Digital Competition 2017
The CDIO team from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) have won the second place in the digital competition 2017 named: “Unmanned vehicles” organized by FPT company took place in Ha Noi on the evening of May the 10th.
Participating in the event were the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, the President of the FPT Company names Truong Gia Binh, heads of Ministries, lecturers and students from many university.

8 teams competing in the final round of this very first Technology competition of Unmanned Vehicle in Viet Nam come from: HUST, HCMUT, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, HCMC University of Information Technology, FPT University, Military Technical Academy, Lac Hong University
The CDIO team participate in the final round of the “Unmanned Vehicles” Digital Competition 2017
8 competition team has been equipped with the model cars, documents about image processing, open source code library. The teams are not allowed to replace or add any gear on the vehicles. The software were written on mobile phones and computers to setup the vehicles and helps them run automatically. The teams start the vehicles and configure them by mobile phones or computers before the race begin. When getting into the official racing field, all connections to the vehicle must be removed and let the vehicle start. the vehicles will have to run totally automatic and be able to dodge obstacles on the model road.
