ECORED Project: HCMUT Students Attending Intensive Courses on Renewable Energy in Europe

From June 24 to July 26, 2018 eight students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) joining the students of two Vietnamese partners within ECORED Project participated in the intensive courses on renewable energy hosted at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland) and University of Cyprus (Cyprus). During the five-week program, not only did the students have a chance to improve their knowledge about energy audit and energy efficiency of buildings, biomass and biofuel production and photovoltaic systems and installation through lectures and theoretical lessons, but they also paid visits to modern and well-equipped key laboratories and gained profound understandings on renewable energy researches and developments in Europe.

The courses are part of the ECORED Project, which involves three mentioned European institutions and three Vietnamese universities, namely Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Can Tho University (CTU). The students were chosen through strictly competitive selection process based on their performance during the courses in Vietnam last, English proficiency , their teamwork skills and other competences. Besides the classes and lectures with top professors and scientists in the field of renewable energy, this was a precious opportunity for 24 students from Vietnam to experience the culture and discover the history of Europe in countries they visited.

The program ended successfully with HCMUT team winning the best team result in the final test, opening up potentials for more effective and comprehensive co-operations between Vietnamese and European institutions in the future. The final conference of the ECORED Project at HCMUT will be organized at B4 Hall, Ly Thuong Kiet Campus on September 5, 2018 with attendance of representatives from European universities and all lecturers and students from HCMUT.
