Starting partnership with Hochschule Bremen City University of Applied Sciences (HSB), Germany

On February 26, 2019, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) welcomed the visit of professors and students of Bremen University of Applied Sciences, Germany (HSB).

HSB and HCMUT signed a MOU in 2018, serving as a basis for implementing cooperation activities between the two institutions. Representing HSB, Prof. Anja Noke, from Civil & Environmental Engineering Division visited HCMUT and worked with External Relations Office, Office for International Study Program and Faculty of Environment & Natural Resources to learn about the strengths and international programs/projects at HCMUT as well as discussing specific collaboration plans in the future.

Prof. Anja Noke, Hochschule Bremen City University of Applied Sciences, Germany is meeting with HCMUT Offices and Faculty.

On occasion of this visit, Prof. Noke, HSB also met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tan Phong, Vice – Dean of Faculty of Environment & Natural Resources and other researchers to discuss mutual research topics. Professor Noke also gave a lecture to HCMUT students about “Microalgae for Bioeconomy”. On the same day, HSB students were also arranged to join some classes of international programs at HCMUT to familiarize themselves with the learning environment so as to prepare for the exchange plan between the two universities in near future.

Founded in 1982, Hochschule Bremen City University of Applied Sciences is a public applied science university with a total of 8,900 students. Despite being a young university, HSB has many strengths in international programs and networks. Bremen is also a city with lots of opportunities to develop port-related industries, food industry and transportation. Annually, HSB sends 700 outgoing students for exchange activities and receives about 300 international incoming students. With policies to encourage students to go abroad to exchange from 1-2 semesters, HCMUT is one of the potential destinations that HSB students desire to visit.
